The Event Team is feeling nostalgic (& lazy)... so for Sunday the 13th we are rerunning an “oldie but goodie”.

Remember it’s the opening day of the Battle for Malta (June 11, 1940). There will be a twist, though.

This Sunday Battle will be a microcosm of the Battle of Britain. It’s focus is the defense of a historical British airfield, RAF Hawkinge. As a Fighter Command airfield, RAF Hawkinge played a major part in the Battle of Britain. No other major fighter base was as close to occupied Europe and it was used as a forward base, allowing aircraft to respond to Luftwaffe raids as soon as they approached southeast England.
