This Sunday Battle will be a microcosm of the Battle of Britain. It’s focus is the defense of a historical British airfield, RAF Hawkinge. As a Fighter Command airfield, RAF Hawkinge played a major part in the Battle of Britain. No other major fighter base was as close to occupied Europe and it was used as a forward base, allowing aircraft to respond to Luftwaffe raids as soon as they approached southeast England.

Today's mission is specifically for bomber guys (specially our dear member Moby), and the guys who like to fly big fat british bombers.

You gotta love it!   This Sunday, the 18th – the RCAF_FB is on a rescue mission.  We have never done anything like it before! Scenario as follows*:

• Two B-25 planes have just completed emergency repairs on a road within enemy territory. They are about to be captured by enemy vehicles and mobile artillery.  P-47’s are tasked to clear a path for them to take off. (Read the description in the gallery below.)

This Sunday, the 11th, we’re back on Malta.  Sorry for this bare bones report. Knight 
was ill this week, so everything was late. The best of the plane set are the Bf 109

If this image does not stir your blood lust for the Nazis, it’s because you’re probably not Russian or drunk.  Anyway, that’s what this Sunday’s Battle, “Battle for the Caucasus”, is about. Here’s Sir Knight’s description:

This factionary battle takes place in 1945 , in the mountains of Caucasus. The story behind this scenario is, the Germans succeeded in capturing USSR, the allied forces has started to push them back and regain control of the Caucasus mountains. They have secret airstrips on top of the mountains which were discovered by a Luftwaffe recon plane. Now the Luftwaffe is going after these bases.

We need movie extras for the filming of “Battle of Coral Sea II” (PG) – Sunday @ 4 pm eastern.   A naval epic – packed with action, comedy, adventure, and gratuitous sex.  Well... at least three out of four.

A variety of beautiful coops by Knight, Vandoos and Gustaf are on the schedule for this Sunday’s Battle – October 14 @ 4 pm eastern. They’ll be fresh, so expect the unexpected. Each are less than 1/2 hour; allowing for 3 to 5 action packed missions, depending on participation. For certain, all will have fun!

“The art of war is like everything else that is beautiful and simple. The simplest moves are the best” (Napoleon).  This Sunday Battle, “Desperate Times”, is simple enough a sailor could understand it. Hence all you need to know is on the attached map.  Thanks again to Knight for creating something simple yet challenging.  For the first time in our Sunday Battles, both teams have the same objectives (see map).  Their paths are going to cross.  We might see bombers fighting bombers; interesting. I think it’ll be a ton fun and laughs.
